I have a Dell Axil X50 I will keep it as long as it lasts. I wish I had WM5 in it but the fokes on this site to which I have read say WM5 does not work too many issues. My X50 came with WM2003 and all the standard stuff from Dell. I just love it goes with me every where, All of the free WIFI sites that are out there I use it to ck my email and other sites its just faster to use then the notebook I have, the over all foot-print makes it so.....
Of course, there is those smartphones with the latest windows mobile that seems very interesting.
The smart phone converged device sounds good. There is one big but for me with these devices. You drop, corrupt it or some how just mess it up. Everything is out of commission. I might change my mind in the future, but as for now I prefer my devices separate. It is really not much of an inconvenience for me as I am use to doing it this way.
My X50v (running WM2003SE) is still working like a champ despite daily use (*touch wood*), but I too, have been drooling over the 210. A convergence device sounds good too, but I am still a bit averse to the bulk. Besides, it's hard to match the specs of the X50v/X51v.
I was just about to get a Nokia N810 before I figured out how to fix my X50's alignment problems. I had the sync connector repaired last fall. Both of these have breathed new life into my X50, so for the time being, it's still my "Portable" internet / PDA companion. I won't get anything now with a QVGA screen. I still like the X50 since unlike my Treo 650, the PIM functions sync really well with Outlook 2003.
Instead of the N810 now I'll get a EEE PC since I want something a little smaller for myself with a keyboard and more modern browser. My main PC is a desktop, and my wife's laptop is way too large to be toting around if I want to to do mail and internet on the go. And, I just have issues with using my work laptop for too much non-work stuff. It also takes forever to boot thanks to the encryption software they now have on it (three to four minutes for a cold start).
My X30 (mid) is just feeling tired. I long for VGA and a faster unit (not to mention wm6).
While I was looking at the 210 (and i guess i still am). I've really gotten psyched for the (yet to be proven real) i-Mate Ultimate 7150. It has most of the same specs as the 210 plus a few that are real key for me:
Infrared
3.8mm Screen
Video Out
Radio (Not key but nice)
QWERTY Keyboard
OLED Exterior display
Con:
only 520MHz
And while it is a converged device I figure it doesn't have to be. I can use it as my PDA and should I choose to put a SIM card in it, I'll have the Phone stuff.
It's not much bigger than my X30 (only thicker: 110 x 74 x 18 mm).
Then again its likely to be twice the cost of the 210?
And as far as I can tell there are virtually *no* 3.5mm VGA with IR devices (that natively run WM6) out there. (Please someone prove me wrong).
Anyway I've heard March is the make or break time -- I've waited this long for the 210, i can wait another month or so for the 7150.
My x51v is currently in great condition, and it's probably going to be the last true PDA I purchase. I'm gonna go the direction of the smartphone, most likely to the tune of an Audiovox. My friend recently got an xv6700 off of eBay, and while that was impressive it seemed a bit too bulky. I'm going to go with the xv6800! Ideally, I could get the imate Ultimate 9502, but that's nearing $1k...

I know the Axim will be around for years to come (some countries have stashes), but the X51V was the last model. So technology speaking, what if in 2009 some other pda came out with a 2 gig processor & 1 gig of memory, and a few more bells & whistles.
Would you then drop your Axim?

If it was a stand-alone PDA? Perhaps, although honestly I don't think it will happen.
I am very satisfied with the Axim experience and I think I'll simply upgrade until I've got the X51 and be content.

The Ipaq 210/211 sure does look really good, but it is certainly not large leap above the Axim X51v. For now, I plan to stick with my Ax until it falls apart. If that were to happen sometime soon then I will buy the 211.
When I was eligible to upgrade my Verizon phone, I took the leap and bought the xv6800 and am ecstatic. There are only two things I think that keeps it from being stellar.
1) The life of the stock battery is VERY subpar
2) It's only QVGA. After my x50v, I miss my VGA
