x51v calendar alarm popup drains battery

I have an x51v with WM5. When a calendar appointment alarm opens a pop-up window (with "dismiss" in the lower left), the Axim will not shut itself off unless I acknowledge the alarm. I've done the "server trick" and not shutting off drains my battery if I'm not available to "dismiss" it. Is there a way to change this? My X5 would alarm, show the popup, then shut itself off after the prescribed time. I have the system power option setup to power-off after 3 minutes when on battery. Thanks.

I suppose you have gone to Start/settings/personal/sounds&notifications/
notifications/evevt/reminders changed settings for display and flash light.
Only thing I can think of now.

Yes, I turned all the sounds and flashing light off. That didn't help. Thanks.

Your suggestion, followed by a soft-boot solved the problem. Thanks.
