Remote Computing clients comparision and question

Comparison of remote desktop software - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

So if i read that correctly, the best TSC that is free is Remote Desktop sharing. Please, correct me if i'm wrong or if there's a better client for pocket PC. I'd rather have a secure connection, ya know...

soooo...found a dear contributor's article. took a hour and a half to FIND it, and sadly, after reading a few pages, i got the answer- security of that particular package wasn't covered a this was a brief. Also, buy this because it will rock your socks off in comparison. Welcome to z2 Software Oh, and i REALLy should upgrade my x50v to WM6, which i can't because,well...i promised myself to review things legally for this site. next time i'll just save that for a New Year's resolution so i can break it the next day.

that being said, i now know what i am a lowly reviewer and he's a microsoft MVP. Bugger. After sifting through about 30 pages of Brighthand forums, it was kind of interesting that he's on every page, not once, twice, but atleast 15 times. i, having wrote three articles total on this site, 3 others to be published, and not to mention the other stuff i did to prove that i could be trusted to write stuff for this site....let's just say I have newfound respect for said MVP.

now as we get off this tangent...and back topic...

i'm still pissed because i have no answer, 5 hours later, and i'm a good search. I need to find another client that works with RDS so i don't have to spend $37 to get something that i only wanted for, i kid you not, a reason to lie in bed longer. Listen i'm a lazy engineer and i don't feel like doing stuff, okay? Walking down stairs doesn't appeal to me unless a beautiful girl is there, no one else is home, and we're not related (there are beautiful women in my family and it pisses me off). other than the factthat i'm a cheapie, nd i can't bring myself to spend the $30 for slingplayer mobile...you get why the idea of paying for good software i probably wont use often displeases me.

read this, enjoy it. if you can't understand it, go sit in a corner and cry til i start my anti paperweightism series, figure it out for myself, and write it out in the non geek speak the general public seems to understand. then again, that may not be possible, hence why there are those nice yellow and black books, which i generally use as gifts for my brother:)

great article man

Not sure if this is what you are trying to do, or if you have different security concerns, but here's how I have connected to my servers remotely in the past. Are you connecting to a system behind a firewall, or just a system down the stairs? If down the stairs (and assuming both units are behind a firewall), why not simply use the remote desktop client? What security concerns in particular are you concerned about?

breley you are a good friend indeed:). Here i am, sitting there and just going NUTS over this thing, and you inadvertently come with an answer to my newest problem- remapping the port on the pocket pc without regediting. i'm going to try this:)

I am going to try and do both. I've pretty much secured it, but still...

hey man, two problems...otherthanall the cool software i saw...no go on finding that port changer for the desktop.

other thing was i am running WM2003SE and my x50vdoesn't like the cab file.

on the good news, i figured outthat the reason why remote desktop port wasn't showing, after me securing it like fort knox, was because i didn't actually check the check box saying to enable remote desktop in the first place. yeeeeeeeaaaahhh...
