I have about 35 x50/x50v backup batteries to give out free.

If you think your backup battery is dead......or dying....feel free to get in touch with me, and I'll be happy to send you one if you send me a S.A.S.E.

They are all pretty new (less than a year old).

Since they are not "new", I don't want to sell them on ebay like my PDA units listed. These didn't cost us anything, so I feel good about offering them to people who need one and can't find one easily (I only saw 2 on ebay....maybe I don't know what to look for)

Replacing a battery is not hard at all. You can find a video I posted earlier about how to take apart the axim unit and put it back together. One thing I didn't specify in the video is that it's easier to unplug the backup battery from it's connector using tweezer nose plyers, rather than your fingers. Similarly, use the same plyers to reconnect the backup battery plug to it's connector on the motherboard - perhaps placing a SMALL DAB of superglue or something like Testors modeler plastic glue on the white landing strip for the battery on the motherboard. There is no circuitry there, so you won't damage anything.

Anyway, enough rant. If you need a battery, they are here. See the photo. It may be more than 35. I didn't drink enough coffee yet to count accurately.

Bernardm,

I guess you are in the US? I am in the UK so the S.A.S.E won't work (I can't get the stamp!)

Would it be possible for you to send me one and I'll paypal you the cost?

Mine definitely seems to have died

Yeah, I can do that. I will chk the post prices on Monday, and send you a PM. Why don't you go ahead and send me your mailing address. That should help me get it done faster.

Then, I'll send you our paypal address with amt for mailing costs.

Someone just asked about a battery for their X51.

This battery assembly is different from the 51 family.

The battery that is photographed in the original post simply won't fit in a 51 pda. The assembly is completely different.

Just thought I'd add that.

Sorry.

The lock switch is unlocked I have tried the hard reset and takeing the battery out and doing the lil reset that way and still nothing !! So would a new battery help me with this issue ? Or do you think this is more internal? i hate to get a battery and it is something other than the battery !!

bjohnson.

I can't say that a new backup battery will help or not with this specific issue.

Generally, troubleshooting an issue like this includes:

soft reset
hard reset
switch batteries (1100 MAh)

perhaps disassembly of axim to disconnect all cables and backup battery, then reconnecting everything.

You may also lock and unlock the switch several times on the left side of the pda.

If you want a new backup battery, I certainly don't mind giving you the address to send a SASE for me to send it to you.

Like I said...it was early. I should have lined them up like eggs in a carton.

Anyway, thanks for the correction.
