SD Card compatability

HELP !!

For several months I have been using a 1 mb SD memory card for storing my music that I then play using windows mobile media card.

At the weekend I copied all my music on to a 2mb card ( obviously so that I can store more music ) but it is so slowwwwww for the media player to access individual tracks.

Any ideas as to how performance can be as fast as it was using the 1mb SD card ?

Any advice gratefully received .

There are a lot of potential issues here. Many have reported more memory usage on the Axim when using larger cards and this could slow down performance but I'd think generally not to a large degree. Have you tried reformatting the 2GB card? I use 4GB SD cards for the same purpose without issues. Some variables are the speed and even brand of the cards. There's a lot of info on cards in the storage card sub-forum.

In general I try to use 133X or 150X cards from reputable brands. if your 2GB card seems brutally slow then I'd look at an issue with the card.

Thanks Pinyon. I should have mentioned that I ALSO copied onto the memory card about 20 "Videos" from my digi camera and windows mobile media player reads these without any problem. It JUST seems to be the music tracks where response times are slow. Nevertheless I'll try your suggestion. Thanks Again

I might also note that I don't use Windows Media Player and many here would suggest trying other media players out. There are myriad posts on media player opinions and there are some very good free ones out there as well as the commercial offerings. Try looking in this sub forum for info.

It's alway possible WMMP is part of the problem, but again, I don't use it.
