Axim x51v and Dell Navigation system BT 309

Hello. I recently received a Dell x51v and a Dell Navigation System from Navteq with Dell receiver BT-309. I am a medical student who will mainly use it for work in the clinic. A few questions..
1) what upgrades should I make to the operating system? I believe it is WM 5.0 right now.
2) It will not connect to for the GPS system. the program works fine...but it will not register the GPS receiver.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jake

When you installed the software, did you select that you are using a CF or Bluetooth GPS? The default is CF. If so, you will need to unistall the software on your PC and install it again.

I have a 51v with the Dell/Navteq BT332 system and it works well together.
I would say the as previously suggested to reload the app if you have
the original app cd and when you try using it make sure your outside
to get clear shot at GPS satellites.
Also if you would like to detect where/what your BT receiver is sending
download this free app and inst on your 51v.

FYI, I have the same setup (except that I'm on WM6), and here's what works for me: in the External GPS settings, set the first page to COM1 and the second page to COM7, 4800 baud. Uncheck the box on the third page. Next, turn on BT, turn on thePS, and configure it as an ingoing and outgoing serial port. The software should see the GPS now; if not, do an auto detect.

well, i'm an idiot. when setting up bluetooth, make sure that you use either COM 7 or 8 as an outgoing port for you GPS receiver. i leave the box checked for automatically handling GPS services.
