Hey everybody, I've got an x51v with FPSEce 0.09.6. I'm trying to play one game: Gran Turismo 2. It is the only Playstation game that I own. :)
My ISO :) runs fine on the computer. In FPSEce, it runs fine, although the music in the menus is pretty choppy. As soon as I go to buy a car (Honda Civic Del Sol!) it freezes the whole Pocket PC.
Not sure what I am doing wrong here. Maybe a problem with my ISO backup?
Maybe someone has a link to some step by step instructions on how to rip the CD properly?
Alcohol ripped the ISO without reporting any errors. I am also using my fancy new Plextor DVD-R drive instead of my laptop combo drive. On top of that, I buffed out the CD with some Zymol (Works on my bike and my car!). Hopefully, this was the problem all along.
Whoever decided that the iso you downloaded before as a temporary measure is illegal was incorrect. You own a copy of the game, and so long as you don't play it on more than one system at a time, it's legal to have it in whatever format you want.
On a side note, what's your emulator's handling of audio and video like? I might have to get a copy of the emulator if it works well enough, and rip a few of my psx games too :)

Yeah, I honestly didn't understand that at all, I think the moderators can't tolerate it at all, because if THIS is ok, then next they will have to deal with something else... a 100 percent no tolerance policy is probably the only way that they can make things work. But thanks for siding with me, lol. Probably best to end the discussion of this here :).
I'm honestly not sure how well it will emulate, because I just can't get past the menus. Here in a few minutes, I am going to try to copy things onto my MicroSD card, but for some reason file transfer won't work over my home network. Windows file sharing is so fussy.
In the menus, things are responsive and quick. It reports around 60fps. I saw a youtube video of someone playing Final Fantasy at full speed. Synthesized music is slow, each note is kinda drawn out. Regular sounds are timely and accurate. Button shortage won't be a problem in GT2, but in other games you might have trouble.
Can't wait to get this working... Gran Turismo 2 is the only game I can test for you.

Putting in a comment like, "Technically, this is not legal, but thats pretty technical" or something along those lines will close down a thread every time. Too much information.

I´m trying this Game too. When I´m going to select a car the screen is filled with lines and the Pocket become unresponsive:( Tried a hundred time, with different configurations LFB, VGA and GDI, with and without Gapi trick... no luck at all
BTW Joelcrane, I have a Philosophy degree and that quotation makes a lot of sense for me :)

I'm not sure who said that, I need to find out. I don't know the first thing about philosophy, I thought it was just funny. It isn't offensive... is it?
Menneisyys posted about a new version of FPSEce some time ago, you can read about it HERE. The new version isn't finished yet, so it looks like we are just going to have to wait, which is ok, considering that the software is free. :)
The problem you describe is identical to mine, the screen becomes filled with lines.
