Start up slow all of the sudden - Help!

For the last couple of weeks my x51 has been very slow to start up from a Standby state. It takes about a minute, with the wait circle flashing periodically. I see the Today screen, but cannot access anything. The only program I've loaded is going from Wisbar 2 to WA3. I uninstalled WA3 with no fix, and besides I had been running it for a few days before this started.

At first I smelt a return of the Activesync lockup, but its only on start up, and I redid the server trick to no avail.

Please, help! The pad & pencil guys at work are starting to smirk while I wait for this thing to finish initializing.

Thanks

by any chance did you start up Odyssey at any point? Usually this happens when Odyssey is running and you need to do an exit from it. Just hitting the X wont do the same thing as an actual exit. Lots of things to try before you do a hard reset.

Aha!! That might just be it. I have been using Odyssey lately. It seems to connect better to my network. However, won't it be disabled after a soft reset?

I'm going to turn it off now, and maybe carpet bomb the app if it is the culpret.

It worked!!!! Disabling Odyssey did the trick. Now I have to figure out why my wifi won't enable, but I'm just happy the thing runs like it new. I can once again use my x51 in meetings, and I can smirk at the steno-pad-wielding cretins.

You can still use it but just remember to exit out before you turn it off. too bad it does that cause i like it too and in fact have to use it at work to connect so it always adds an extra step when I do use it.

I couldn't have said it better.... hard reset is and should always be the last resort for most people.
