copying from cf to SD on an x51v

OK, i love the x51v and right now am trying to use it as a replacement for a laptop for reviewing pictures taken with a dslr. I am using resco photo viewer and resco explorer. photo viewer is working amazing and the screen looking at raw photos is also amazing. anyway now comes the problem. let's say i'm out and have the CF cards there and want to use the sd's as temp storage so i fill up a cf and want to copy them to the sd. ok now the question, is there any tweaks of speeding up the copying of cf to sd at all? it takes forever and if it takes that long it wont work in the long run for backups, only previewing them. any help would be great.

SD to CF within the confines my X51V is really slow. I use an external 6-1 card reader and a PC. This method is much faster IMHO. Card readers are pretty inexpensive and the time saved is significant.

i was praying to not have to carry a laptop that is why i was hoping that this would work better, buess not :( i have the laptop with the integrated xxxx in 1 device and the same thing on my pc's, it is just soo much easier not to have a laptop when i want to transfer them.

There is a USB device that will copy from one device to another without a PC..

I've got one somewhere in a bag... as soon as I think of the name I'll let you know what it is (if someone doesn't get there first)

[edit.. here it is, can't find mine but google is a wonderful thing.

If you had a couple of card readers maybe this would work.

If speed means anything to you, it's better to use a laptop or some sort of photobank device. I have been using the Epson P-3000 and it works very well for its purpose. Granted, it was kind of pricey. I've just recently acquired an Asus EEE and the first chance I get, I am going to use it as my laptop replacement when out taking photos.

The easiest solution is to buy another CF card! they're pretty cheap these days. :-)

well that isn't what i was going for, i wanted kinda a dual solution. i wanted something like the xs drive and i wanted to review the pics. so basically i was looking for a storage solution in the sd part of it similar to the xs stuff like these
XS Drive 2 SMART 2300

and then i wanted the axim for reviewing raw photos. I have plenty of cf storage, but that isn't the problem neither will having more CF storage.
