Sync Error after moving .pst file

Hi,

I have had to move my Outlook pst file from Docs&settings/Bill... to another drive (because of space constraints). Although Outlook is happy with the move, Activesync is throwing up an sync error when I connect.

Has anyone here seen similar problems and could suggest a fix?

Bill

I don't know if this will help, but have you tried deleting your existing Activesync partnership and creating a new one?

Hi Julie,

Yes i did that, but to no avail. However, installing As4.5 has fixed the problem (I suspect a re-install of 4.2 might have done the same).

Thanks for your help :)

Glad you figured out how to fix it. I thought that Activesync probably stores that information somewhere in its system files and wondered at the time I posted my reply, if reinstalling ActiveSync would do the trick.

It's nice to know that you can move the .PST file off to a second drive with no ill effect - those files can get quite large. I archive mine from time to time and had wondered how accessible the archives would be on a second drive - since I carry a laptop around I wouldn't move my active .PST file - so now I think I should be able to move those old files off and still be able to access them without a big hassle.

Mine was 500MB !

I found moving the files, or rather re-configuring Outlook, was a bit of a fiddle (mainly 'cos I didn't know exactly how to do it).
