Possible to use axim as a monitor for a pc?

This would be an idea. I need a mini monitor on my mac mini. I suppose one could hook up remote desktop type of software for the mac to the handheld, but how about we just bypass that and use the little lcd as a monitor.

has anyone tried using the lcd in this manner?

There is a cable mentioned on this site that will allow your unit to display onto a pc screen. I am unsure the other way around has been tried. I would do a search on this site for this and see what comes up.

I doubt any cable will get video into the Axim without an additional card.

I use vncviewer on the PDA from .NET VNC Viewer there are various versions of vnc for mac/pc

[edit]
you may already have it on the mac:

No doubt, no way for video-in to Axim.
It is not an Axim limitation but a general limitation.
None of the Axim big brothers (laptop, notebook) has VGA-in or such (as far as I know )

It's not a generic thing. Generally people want to do the reverse.

Interesting idea though!

I've thought that those little VGA screens could be useful displays for other devices, but alas, the handheld manufacturers seem to have overlooked that possibility.

(On a related note, I wonder if someone has the technical skills to re-wire a X50v/X51v LCD to act as a very small PC monitor. It would at least give me an excuse to sell the one that I have lying around with a torn cable.)

There is one way that might work.
If you have the mini mac setup to start up and connect to the internet automatically without the screen attached.
Then you could connect to the mac using the Axim via something like Logmein or a virtual server type program.
This would then allow you to control the mac with the Ax.

This looks promising, does any one have this? The web page says "Cradle up and go!" but also says this version has better support for Wi-Fi. I does not say specifically if this can go wireless. It would be cool if it could.

I have used sidewindow. It's pretty cool, and I don't remember if I ever tried to use it with WiFi. And they don't offer a Mac version.

Also, it looks like Windows SideShow does this as well, even to the point of supporting wireless connections.
