Screen troubles

i have an x50v i just recently re-flashed it to 2003 then using a cd upgraded to wm5 a01 and then using the download from the dell website i upgraded my ROM to A02. my screen has been going all flashy. like when the tracking gets messed up on your vcr. (yeah old school i know) and then sometimes it goes back to normal other times it resolves to having the upper left hand corner of my screen being full screen. and if i squeeze the case on the left down side right near the screen connections it usually goes back to normal or if i flick it anywhere. i upgraded to A02 ROM hoping it would help but it did not. i'm not sure what the problem is. sometimes when i turn it off and then back on it displays just the upper left part full screen and if i run my nail along the top seam of the case it will usually pop back to normal or again just flick the case anywhere. i took it apart and it doesn't seem to have any damage on it anywhere. the wires connecting the screen to the motherboard are good and connected well. i thought that the one connection might have been contacting the metal case of the screen thingy so i put a small piece of tissue inbetween it and the metal case and still no luck.
everything works fine. otherwise touch screen works bluetooth and wireless work. what do i do?

This sounds like the connector for the LCD flex cable has become loose.
You will need to open the case and unlock the connector clamp for the LCD flex cable, reseat the cable carefully and close the clamp.

Good luck

If it turns out to not be the hardware you might seriously want to consider reflashing to WM2003SE and staying there. WM5 does not run well on the X50/v platform.

Just to add onto this, there are lots of threads on this site about WM5 upgrading and the X50 series. Most of the comments are not very complimentary. I think CodeBubbas advise would be a first try before opening your unit, this is of course IMHO. :approve:
