Aximsitex50icon Getting rid of Add/Remove Programs pop-up

Hi,
I'm using an X50v with WM2003se and Activesync 3.8 (I know there's newer versions, but I prefer to sync wirelessly and WM2003 is just fine for me). A couple weeks ago, I was moving some installation files into an archive folder on my PC and I think I accidentally clicked on an installer file that belonged to some unidentified program...I don't think it was the actual setup file, but (if it's possible, I don't know these things) maybe just the file that tells Activesync to install something on the next synchronization. I remember at the time, it told me the program would be installed upon the next syncronization, and I figured I'd identify the program at that point and whatever it was would just be re-installed.

Trouble is, now every I sync using the cradle (not over wifi) the Add/Remove Programs window pops up. It shows "0" as the space required to install the mystery (I think non-existant) program, and even if I just check the box to install to the default location and proceed like I normally would when installing a program intentionally, I get nothing on the pda screen and it just closes the box and syncronizes. Then next time I dock, it pops up again...Same thing all over, every time I dock.

My questions to the experts:
1) Is it possible that I just accidentally activated a blank loader/initiator for the add programs setup?
2) If so, is it possible to find a place where Activesync is storing the command to initiate a (blank or null) installation?
3) If so, can I delete that so that it does not pop up any more?
4) If you don't think this is the problem, does anyone have any proposed solution that doesn't involve uninstalling all my apps, a hard reset, or upgrading Activesync?

Thanks in advance for any input you all may have!

Update: Found a solution. I actually installed some other software tonight (intentionally) and after a reboot, I was happy to find that it inadvertently solved my issue. I'd tried uninstalling software, and letting Activesync go ahead and install the software it thought it was installing, but I guess I hadn't tried adding software to the pda.

Hopefully anyone else that may have been in the same place as me can try this and have it work for them. At least that would keep this post from being entirely unnecessary. Thanks again...

Glad it worked out for you. I wonder if just a soft reset would have fixed it?

I'd tried soft reset, to no avail. Must've been on the Activesync end of things and installing an actual program just got to stop trying to install a non-existant one. Thanks for the message.
