Skype for PPC install failure

I have just aquired an x51v and have been trying to install Skype for PPC (several versions) by direct download as I do not yet have a USB cable. All downloads fail with a not valid program message. Does anyone use Skype on the x51 or know what verson works and how to load it?

I have Skype 2.2.0.20 installed on both my Ax51v and HTC 7501,
the version I have must be installed to ppc via the host pc activesync usb
cable they work just fine.

You need to go to this page.
Skype 2.2 for Windows Mobile
and click on the link that says,"download the .cab file"
Save it anywhere on your Ax.
Once it has downloaded, go to the file and tap on it.
And it should install.

I tried the new Skype Mobile download, for my X50v with Windows Mobile 2003 SE and it will not install either with the PC version or the cab file. It's apparently only for Windows 5.0 (?) Comes up 'invalid cab file' either way.

Of course I overwrote the older version of Skype which was working just fine for a long time...any suggestions?
