ok i am glad about abiity on previous issue now i can ask a question.
I have an issue with syncing my x50. i recently got computer with vista. old computer has xp and that's what my axim had been syncing to. i just installed wm6, plugged in axim, it found hardware and it's listed in device manager...that's about it. nothing else happens. it's not listed in sync center or windows media. what might be the problem and how can i resolve. i want to get rid of 5 year old laptop only if able to sync with vista. your help greatly appreciated.

srenit59,
In Vista, the Windows Mobile Device Center replaces Activesync. You can find the download here. Once installed, you should be able to sync your Axim.

Aximsitex50icon Axim X51

I recently purchased an Axim X51
with WM 5.0
Intel Processor PXA270
speed 520 MHZ
Ram Size 64 MB
Rom Size 128 MB
ROM Verzion A12(06200600)

I would like to upgrade to WM 6.1 but I only see instructions for the X51V. Is mine able to be upgraded?
Thank you for your help.

The answer is yes, but it is not recommended. WM6.1 for x51 is bug-ridden and contains some show-stopper bugs. For example, it cannot use CF cards, Wi-Fi has some problems connecting, etc. Therefore, it is recommend that you stay with WM5.

Being new to this forum and I don't even have my x51v yet, after reading this thread, only one question has come to mind, "Has any of the WM6 ROM producers approached Microsoft or Dell in an effort to get legality?"

Makuu has created a VoIP ROM for those who uses it. The download is here on XDA (You have to register). Then download the text with the links named "A09 PRO VOIP x50v Gold download links.txt"

Once you extract the files, you should receive a .nb0 and .crc. Copy those files to a FAT32-formatted SD card (Not SDHC). Then follow these instructions to flash. As always, be sure to backup all personal files and settings before starting!

If you need any additional help, post a reply in this thread or send me a private message.
