Need help updating x50

Well, just got this from ebay and I need to know how to find out what version of windows mobile it is running. I know in system information I found it is running rom a02. I am curious how to upgrade to windows mobile 5 and where I can find the latest rom. I look on the dell web page and only found the windows mobile 2003 SE rom a05. Can someone help me out as I am very new to pocket pc's! Thanks!

It's either running the WM2003 SE A02 rom or the WM5 A02 rom. Which axim did you get, X50(mid) or X50(low)? If your device has built-in wi-fi and can max the processor out to 520mHz, you have a X50(mid). If your device has only bluetooth and can max the processor out to 416mHz, you have a X50(low). To see which os the axim is running, look in the control panel for the "About" icon. Choose it and it will tell you what os build you are running (Windows CE 4.2 is WM2003 SE and Windows CE 5 is WM5).

ok, it is running windows mobile 2003 se. A02 rom. I am curious where to find directions and the download to upgrade it to windows mobile 5.0 a05 or newer if there is one. Thanks any help. Kinda of a noob to pocket pc's but i can handle everything else normally lol.
Its an LE btw.

The latest WM2003 SE rom for the X50(low) is A05. You can find that somewhere on Dell's website. As for WM5, you need to buy the upgrade cd from a 3rd party because Dell no longer sells the upgrade cd (try ebay). If you still need help, let me know.
