I think this is good news!!!...Hope it has not already been posted.
Spoke with one of the directors of the IT department at the hospital I currently work. I was told that due to the suitability of regular PDA over PDA phone for medical field use, the IT department has been trying to work out a solution with the folks at Dell. As a result of that, there is a serious talk and consideration within Dell to restart the making the X51/X51v series.
My current workplace, as well as numerous other companies/workplaces around the US, has been contracting with Dell for a long time for all its computing need. The IT department has been trying to implement an updated PDA or PDA phone to replace the X5's the hospital had acquired in bulk a few years ago for physicians and staff to carry out hospital-related work.
By the way, the director also mentioned that their recent work on this has shown that PALM is not progressing and basically dead. It looks like Microsoft has done it again in taking over the PDA's software.
I hope it goes through within Dell. I think that will mean more support and warranty service for Dell PDA's once again.:approve: HP, beware...
