The problem is most likely caused by an internet application you have installed that was previously using your WiFi connection, but is not aware that you have since disabled the WiFi session. It has made a request for Internet access and your network driver attempted to make the connection, and failed readily due to your having disabled the WiFi radio.
I have found in the past that having outdated network card drivers can cause this problem, so of course updating your Wireless WiFi card's drivers may resolve this issue...
Hi Elrendhel,
Thanks for the reply but I am not really sure how to check into what you have suggested.
I dont beleive I installed (or uninstalled) any aps that would use my wifi connection. In fact only use wifi infrequently.
Sorry for my inexperience in this, but how exactly might I determine exactly what program is looking for the connection?
As to updating the drivers, the wifi card is the one built into my Axim x51v (a12 rom), so is it possible to update these?

There was a wifi update from Dell in early 07, most likely though that a weather application, or an RSS reader, or email client is trying to update.
Thanks for the reply.
I dont have any weathe or RSS apps and I use gmail through Opera for mail.
The only thing I have installed recently is ilauncher.
Could that be checking for updates?
It is getting pretty frustrating. Is there any way to check what exactly is trying to to obtain a server-assigned IP address?
