X51v freezes on WiFi / Sound troubles

Hey there,

after having used my axim for some time i´m sort of happy with it. For example I could use a free WiFi connection to surf and place international phone calls via Skype mobile...cool!
1. But when I try to connect to wlan networks that are encrypted the axim always freezes somewhen when I try to set up the connection using the Dell wlan utility. I think about trying the WiFi companion software. Any clues?

2. When using Skype I realized that the headphone volume was very low. I couldn´t use it ina noisy environment. Is there a way to turn up the volume?

3. I´m thinking about using a different browser. Is there a good alternative to the IE mobile?

4. I wanted to show some pictures on my axim cause the screen is bigger than the screen on my digicam but it was very uncomfortable to browse through the pics. Is there a picture viewing software for the axim?

1) Have you tried using the Odyssey Client? Some people seem to have better luck with it when connecting to encrypted wlan's. It's also fairly well known that Axim's have problems connecting to certain wireless router/access points. Mine would not connect to my D-Link router when using any form of encryption; I had to purchase a Linksys router specifically for use with the Axim. Search the many threads here for more info on this problem.

2) Sorry, I don't know.

3) IMHO, Opera is the best mobile browser. It's not free but worth it if you need to use it.

4) I've been using Resco Photo Viewer Pro. It works very well; has many viewing options, slideshow, can automatically size and rotate images fullscreen, and has a nice utility to upload images from your PC with options to resize and enhance them on the fly. You can also create albums for ease in finding images once they're on your Axim.

the answer to your #2 is to use either x50mix or SRS WOW HD or both, google them.
