trying to make my x51v dial a number on my cell phone

ok so i've been wanting my x51v to be able to dial a number in my contacts list using my cell phone. well i figure the whole dial via blue tooth option under wm6.1's contact list should be able to do that but nope, x51v says the number was dialed but my cell phone (sanyo katana on sprint) does nothing. the bluetooth icon comes on and the goes off, that all that happens.

i;ve been trying to get the to work off and one with third party apps for wm5 and and now with the built in stuff in wm6.1 but i still have had no luck. can any one point me in the right direction?

Are your cellphone and X51v paired? There has to be a partnership between the two devices before bluetooth can do anything.

You need to add some additional bluetooth profiles to your partnership. Right now with just DUN checked you can use your katana as a modem. Try deleting your old partnership and in addition to DUN profile allow the ObjectPush Profile (OPP) and the Handsfree profile as well. It's been awile since I played with this so I can't tell you at which step in creating the partnership you get to add the proilfes to your Axim. For that matter I think they're called Bluetooth Services on your Ax.

You need serial port profile SPP on your phone

You need serial port profile SPP. Some phones have it some don't. You might have a better luck if you'll switch to broadcom stack on your axim.

From what I can see the Katana doesn't support SPP. Here's a list of the available Bluetooth services on the Sanyo Katana DLX. Where did you get the SPP Info from colluserid?

Know what I do? I just put the Axim next to the phone ear piece, and it dials by sound alone.
:)

i;ve got the broadcom stack and i'm using wm6. the only service i see is dial up networking. i know there has to be a way since my stupid garmin c550 gps can dial my phone for me... the only service shown from my cell phone is DUN. i know i can send contacts between my pda and my phone i do it all the time. is there something i'm missing?

also i don't have a katana dlx i have just the plain jane katana.
