Registry editing question

First a little background before the registry question (skip to the question below in red if you want). I have been using Foxit off and on for a while now as one of my pdf viewers. There recently was a new release that I downloaded and installed. I have Adobe viewer set as my default viewer, but will occasionally use Foxit for some of its better features. I open GSFinder and browse to the file I want to open and then tap and hold to display the context menu. Within this menu, I choose Open/Choose program and then select Foxit to open the pdf file. Since installing the latest version, when I select Foxit from the list of programs, a version from 9 months ago (which has been uninstalled) opens up. However, if I open Foxit from the programs menu, then the latest version opens- so it's actually installed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version with no luck.

I used the registry editor in SKTools to search and find all the registry keys that contain "foxit" which is a list of 26 keys. My question is this. Is it safe to delete every single registry key with "foxit" in it to completely remove all remnants of foxit before I reinstall the latest version? Or do I just remove specific keys? If so, how do I know which ones to delete?

Thanks!

If you have uninstalled Foxit Reader (every variation of it you can find), then I don't think deleting the registry entries that reference Foxit Reader should hurt anything.

But before you modify anything in your registry, perform a backup of your pocket pc just_in_case.

That's kind of what I thought. I do complete daily backups of my PDA (98Mb worth) so I'm good to go there. I just deleted all Foxit keys, but no longer have it listed in the list of programs to choose from when opening a pdf, but it still can be run from Start/Programs.

Thanks Julie!

edit:
I just set Foxit as the default viewer and then soft reset. Now it shows up in the list of available programs.
