I suppose it could be but I personally have never had any major issues with PIE. I know I'm in the minority but it works fine for me. I'm using it to post now.

Different strokes for different folks, I imagine. I also don't have any problems with browsing on my Q using PIE or Opera (which has been rock steady for me), but then I save most serious browsing for my laptop. I mainly browse text and forums like this form my phone, as I am doing now.
If your phone is your primary internet access, then I would suggest not worrying so much about software, but hardware. Go for yes, an iPhone or a similar form factor WM6 phone, like the Diamond or the Touch.
I enjoy browsing very much on my HP Ipaq 211 with Opera the same as using my Axim x50v whether on forums, downloading, reading my emails, etc but I guess different strokes for different folks. Replied to your concern using my Ipaq.
Trying to compare an AX to an iPhone that was designed for fast WEB browsing is not realistic.
But, how many 2nd party software programs can you load on that iPhone? None.
I think the AX does well for its design. :approve:

There are a lot of different browsers available for Windows Mobile devices. Devlopment is ongoing in that market.
@krenb-What exactly is it you like about the iPhone browsing experience? I'm really curious. I've seen it and I'm not that impressed.

I second that! There are plenty of web browsers (free and non-free) available for the pocket pc, so I don't see the point of griping about it.
Perhaps you like the iPhone only for it's finger and multi-touch aspects?

It's hard to believe how terrible the browsing experience on my x51v is compared to an itouch/iphone.
Am I missing something here?
I have used the illicit version of opera floating around and it was the closest thing to iphone experience I have found but it was very unstable.
Is that our best hope? I'm astonished if this is the case.
Forgetting for the moment that your compairing Apples and Oranges (pun intended) have you tried Opera 8.65?
With that said, no handheld device surfs like an iphone.
8+ years later, MS still can't get it right.
Compare our Ax51v's to a desktop computer 20 years ago. We have more: CPU, memory, storage and networking built in. Sadly, we have WM crushing the whole thing.
