No Internet Connectivity Through Wireless or through Active Sync
Hi, I hard reset my device last night....and now through active sync my device will not pass through to the internet anymore...
Also, I have software on my phone that turns it into a wireless access point to take advantage of my internet package on the phone..This works perfectly on all my other devices....However, on my dell I can connect to the wireless access point but it wont go out onto the internet, I have tried via IE, Opera & Newsgator which all require an Internet connection to update.
Any guidance would be appreciated...I am completely stumped
It might be worth checking whether you can connect without WEP or TKIP
if you haven't already tried that. Then maybe re-enter your encoding if it does work.
I assume, because you did a hard reset, you have recreated all the connections?

IOW - The connectivity is all good (wireless & AS) but you can't get to a WEB site thru Internet Explorer?
What happens when you open IE? Does it give you a page not found error? Does the program even come up?

If so, your IE software may be corrupted or it's not working through the connection for some reason. :(

I'm throwing out ideas here - It just seems like the software program is not getting thru the connection software. It's like they're not talking to each other. :(
You might try reloading Opera Mini and see if it makes the connection.

This obviously is the result of the hard rest, since it worked before. That takes it back to the factory settings. Therefore, you had to reload all the software programs or use a backup. :)
I know I've had a couple of instances where my backup didn't load everything back correctly. I had to reinstall the backup three times in one case before everything was back to normal. :(

after some fiddling around...It seems that it cant get a DHCP address from the Access Point...Even though other devices can....very strange...I manually configured the device to a static address and now all is okay...
That's a strange one. I didn't realize that would effect when docked.
Glad it's working now. :approve:
