X51V Sync with Vista No Driver Installed

I received help regarding the Rom I was running in my X51V. I upgraded to A12 with no problem. Everything does work smoother and syncing with an XP SP2 is flawless. Trying to sync with Vista is a whole new issue. Before A12 Vista didn't even see the X51V as a mobile device. It only saw an unknown device and would not load the drivers. With A12 is sees the X51V as an X51V in Mobile Devices and it downloads the driver succesfully but then in the Device Manager it gives me an error code saying no drivers are present. See Below:
No drivers are installed for this device.

After browsing everywhere to find and reinstall the driver from Device Manager I receive the message:
Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date.

Does anyone have any idea why Vista does not recognize the driver or does not install the driver??

Thanks for all the help with the previous issues. I love the X51V when it is working correctly.

To sync with Vista, you need to install the Windows Mobile Device Center, WDMC for short which replaces Activesync on Vista. Download it from MS.

Yes I did download WMDC but it doesn't see the X51V. In the Sync Manager the device doesn't show up either so I can't set up a sync connection between them. Because I can't set the connection in Sync Manager the WMDC doesn't make the connection either. The Device Manager says there is no Device Driver present so the device isn't working properly. How do I get the Device Manager to recognize the Driver I downloaded for the X51V?

I don't have Vista but a similar situation happens in WinXP when the PPC device was attached before installing ActiveSync (the driver for the PPC is part of ActiveSync and I assume the same is true for Windows Mobile Device Center).

The solution in XP is to go into the Control panel/System/Hardware/Device manager and remove the PPC from the list. Unplug it from the USB port, reboot the computer, and then plug it back in. Sometimes people have had to reinstall ActiveSync after deleting the device and before plugging it back in.

Again, this is with XP but I'm assuming similar options are available with Vista and WMDC.

There is a known problem with WMDC 6.x that can cause this problem, and the solution is to uninstall it and install V 6.0. I installed V6.0 when I installed Vista, and due to problems never upgraded to 6.1.
