SDHC Compatability?

Hi

Sorry for the lame questions but....

I haven't been here in a while and it seems the site has changed. Can't seem to be able to do anything in search? Even tried "sd" and nothing comes up. What's the scoop?

Also Im fried an SD card and was shopping for a new one and wondered if any of these larger SD cards work? Has anyone tried the 8 or 16 gig cards? Also it seems that SDHC seem to becoming more popular would the SDHC cards work in an Axim?

Thanks

Scooter.

Checkout this link. Storage Card Compatibility List

You didn't say which AX you have or its operating system.

O.K. - Look thru the compatibility thread. That should answer your question. :)

Also remember that all 8 and 16G cards (and most 4G ones) are SDHC, so a device has to be SDHC compatiable to use them. This depends on the firmware, and the compatibility link should help you as to if you can use the larger cards.

SDHC doesn't work natively with the X51v and WM5.
There is a patch you can install to make it work Here.
Most WM6 versions on the Ax will support SDHC.

I agree with you but my experience with a SDHC 16gb card and any version of 'footballs', 'LennySH' or 'makuu' version have worked with my card. Not sure which WM6 or WM6.1 version ROM that does not work. :approve:

As I haven't tried all the versions, I decided the word "most" was appropriate.
I'm sure if I said "all" someone would have been very happy to tell me I was wrong.
