Exclamation can't reset to factory default for x51v

Hi,
anyone got encounter can't do hard reset at all. The factory default screen come out a second and then disappear & proceed to boot into current windows without any reset....just the time & date reset only. Really suspect the bootloader has been corrupted.

For your info, I do hard reset by press & hold the power button follow by the reset button at the back.
Maybe someone will suspect maybe my x51v button got problem but when I run diagnostic test, all button is successfully detected

I just notice that the SD image update version also become AXX_G3, before is A10_G3 if not mistaken......all the problem start when I start to update the x51v to wm5 A12 from dell.......

There is a sticky note on this site on this upgrade process (which is unusual to say the least). I would suggest you follow the steps mentioned in that sticky note step by step and you should be ok. The last upgrade from Dell fixed almost all if not all of the units issues but was a bit of a mess to get all the way through.

Another member reported getting around that problem by using Activesync to do the WM5 A12 Rom update from the Dell site. So try cradling your AX. He described a very similar problem to what your experiencing.

If none of that work I have a downloaded ROM file for A12 that uses the ROM flash process that is used to upgrade to WM6 or WM6.1 ROMs. Another person developed it for those that want to try WM6 or WM6.1 ROM's but want to return their unit to the last ROM released for a Dell X51V unit.

I found this happens when you try to do a flash through the Cradle (eg to A12) and you stop the process too soon (or interrupt it). It has to reboot a number of times and sometimes appears to be asleep.

The fix is to redo the flash procedure.
