PC crashed - Can Sprite Bacup on Axim be used to restore?

My PC motherboard blew out on me a few weeks ago and the original hard drive became corrupted so I rebuilt my system from scratch. All of my software has been reinstalled except the stuff associated with my Axim X50V.

Instead of reinstalling each app one by one, does anyone know how (or if I even can) restore all the of PDA apps on the PC side - with all of the settings intact - from a backup file that I have made using Sprite backup? The backup file resides on the SD card on the Axim; the Axim itself is fine and functioning properly

All of the searches I did on the forums spoke of restoring from backup after the Axim itself crashed and not the other way around (i.e when a PC crashes)

Completely different animal. The programs in your backup file are for WinMo, installed on Axim hardware. They will not be able to reinstall programs on Windows on PC hardware.

However, if you configure ActiveSync to overwrite the PC from the Axim during the next sync, some things like contacts and conduits and maybe even applications may be restored on your PC during the first sync.

Good luck,
Z

EDIT: Now that I am at my desk, in the ActiveSync window, right click on your desktop and select Settings. Then, in the If there is a conflict field, select Replace item on Desktop and let her rip.
