Hi, I'm using Dell Axim x50v WM2003 and it's hang at the Dell Logo boot screen.
I found some thread which mention about the SD Image Update (Wireless+Power+Reset).
I did format my 1Gb Transcend SD card to FAT32 and copy the following files to the SD card:
DiMa_B_A05_X50v_WM2k3_ENG.nb0
DiMa_B_A05_X50v_WM2k3_ENG_nb0.crc
DiMa_K_A05_X50v_WM2k3_ENG.nb0
DiMa_K_A05_X50v_WM2k3_ENG_nb0.crc
However, everytime I boot to SD Image Update the list is empty / no rom selection. I'm tried with another Kingston 128mb SD card also the same.
I'm also tried to change the file prefix to "WM50" and "DiAd", but the SD Image Update still empty list.
I'm drain my primary battery for 1 whole night and redo the SD Image Update still the same.
If I pull out the SD card and the run the SD Image Update, it will prompt that there is no SD card detected. So my SD card slot should be working fine.
When I'm running the Diagnostic Tool (Record+Power+Reset), it pass all the testing. So basically there is no hardware issue.

First of all , how did your axim end up in this situation , did u try to upgrade to WM5?
Yeap, I already read and try the solution on that thread before post this one. But it can't solve my problem.
actually my axim running WM5 A01 for long time, but it suddently hang at dell boot screen (80% base on the progress bar) one day. So I decide to downgrade it back to WM2k3.
I manage to flash the bootloader and WM2k3 with no problem. However it still hang at the Dell boot logo screen. So I wanna try to reflash the OS again but the bootloader and OS image never show up again at the SD Image Update.
However there is no hardware problem base on the Diagnostic (Record+Power+Reset).
It puzzles me why you need 4 files. You would only need two files. One for bootloader and one for OS.
For example: Here's are Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM files (Experimental by LennySh):
DiAd_K_AximX51v_WM61_L10EN_nb0.crc
DiAd_K_AximX51v_WM61_L10EN.nbo
DiMa is the proper boot files names for a WM2003 bootloader
Try just choosing the "K" files first and put them inside your SD card.
Remember, the SD card has to be formatted as FAT32.
Also, do a hard reset on the Axim. Put it in the cradle and hook it up with the PC. If possible, add those two files in the root folder of the Axim itself.

I'm already format the SD card to FAT32.
How to put the OS images DiMa_K... to the root folder of Axim? It is not able to bootup to desktop therefore can't activesync with PC. Is it any oher way to access the root folder of Axim?
I'll try anything if there is any possibility to recover my axim.
OK, after testing and browsing for solutions for few days, I think my Axim bootloader maybe somehow corrupted already.
It doesn't cause a full brick because I still can run the Diagnostic, SD Image Update, and it still able to boot but hang at the Dell logo.
However, the SD Image Update can't detect what my Axim bootloader is. Normally the SD Image Update will scan the bootloader and then show the image file which the prefix (DiMa, WM50, or DiAk) match with the bootloader.
I wonder is it any prefix which is compatible to all bootloader version, or anyway to reflash the bootloader, or any bootloader ipl which can run from the SD card?

Hi, still trying to sort out my x50v.
I've read the threads, including this one, and have done all of the above. The flash won't work. My files are:
I tried it with the four files, the two files, and even got the two files in my Axim's root.
All the reset does is offer to go into the diagnositic, then soft resets when I don't do anything.
My Axim has issues, that's why I'm trying to reflash the ROM. The most notable at present is that I installed Pocket Artist (great program) into "built-in storage" and it started to act up... and now I can NOT delete it from BIS.
So, I have a basically functional Axim x50v (with issues), but I cannot re-flash it.
Any ideas?
2. Is there any definitive test to see if your Axim is just hurt? I ran the built-in one and it said it was fine.

Your Ms ActiveSync still working or not? If yes then just download the update ROM form Dell Support Website and use it.
Also, what is your WM version? WM2k3 or WM5?
If WM2k3 then you basically need the following file (prefix: DiMa)
DiMa_K_A05_X50v_WM2k3_ENG.nb0
DiMa_K_A05_X50v_WM2k3_ENG_nbo.crc
If WM5 then you basically need the following file (prefix: WM50)
WM50_K_A01_X50v_WM5_ENG.nb0
WM50_K_A01_X50v_WM5_ENG_nb0.crc
Don't mess up with the bootloader (****_B_*****). Once you able to run the Ms ActiveSync then use the Update/Downgrade ROM from the Dell Support Website.
Also, If you are running WM5, my advice is downgrade it to WM2k3 or upgrade it to WM6. There is a lot of us having 80% boot hang problem.
Hope this info can help you before your Axim become like mine one

Yes, my AS is working. I have:
AS 3.8.0 downloaded from the internet
WM2003SE original install on my Axim (as far as I know - got it used)
The Dell updater - great idea. I actually tried that first. Downloaded it at least twice. Installed it several times. It gives me this error message,
"The System Update file can not be found. Reinstall the System Update."
Of course, I got to this point by installing the System Update, so couldn't guess what else it wants.
I can sync my unit with my computer, so AS seems to be working...

Btw, after you download the Update file from Dell website (R106214.EXE) and run it, did you go to your "C:\Dell\Drivers\R106214\ROM\English" to check is it any "AximX50v_A05EN.IMG" (if you download the WM2k3 A05) file or not? It's around 34MB.
Hi, I was busy for the past few days.
@colalee, you actually do not need Activesync to put the two files on your SD card. Most new computers have built-in card readers.
@Mirthrindir, I am waiting to see if you successfully flashed your ROM.
