You cannot make Coreplayer a default Youtube player. The only way is to view Youtube videos by opening Coreplayer.

Coreplayer basically combines TCPMP and Youtubeplayer. But it's not freeware. It has a more simplistic UI compared to TCPMP.

Which is better, Coreplayer or Youtubeplayer?

It's like comparing an apple and an orange...

Coreplayer plays most video files + Youtube videos. It is shareware.

Youtubeplayer plays only Youtube Videos and .flv (I'm not sure). It is freeware.

TCPMP plays most video files + Youtube videos. It is freeware.

I just realized that I have coreplayer. I just installed it and when trying to play youtube, it's just a spinning circle. Also, when I searched the top videos, some came up with file not found! Is there a way to update Coreplayer for free? I'm using version 1.2.2.

pda810: I also heard good stuff about Opera. I don't know if it was just me but I tried it last night and the result was horrible. It takes a lot longer to load a page than PIE. Youtube video didn't play on Opera either. I haven't tried other browser but on my PC I use Firefox. By the way, it was Opera 9.5 that I used. I could do the same thing, i.e. searching youtube, from within CorePlayer.

I haven't posted enough to provide a link but I'm using the Opera Mobile Diamond 2392 build. It seems to work good. The latest version on Opera.com seems to have quite a few bugs.

Anyway, just type in Opera Mobile Diamond in Google search and the link should come up at the top. It's labeled *[Sept-26-08]* Diamond Opera 9.5. I'm using the 2392 SD Card installation, but I had to edit the opera.ini file for it to work properly. If you want to install the SD Card version, first install to your sd card, then you will have to copy the Opera.ini file located in /Windows/Opera9/ folder to your desktop and edit the file. Anywhere you see Storage Card, change it to SD Card. After you have edited the file copy the edited Opera.ini file back to the /Windows/Opera9/ folder and overwrite the original file. Also if you want your Downloads to show up on the screen, make sure right after the google/m home page loads for the first that you click at the bottom right of the screen and tabs will come up. Click the downloads tab and the downloads page should come up. If it does then you are all set and it will always work. If you don't do this right away, your download page may never show up.

Anyway, I like Opera Mobile way better than Pie. The best overall browser for speed and flash capabilities is Skyfire, though. Skyfire's downfall is that it looks blurry unless zoomed in. You will have to have a phone.dll file and sms.dll copied into the Skyfire folder for it to work, though. Opera Mini is also really fast, but it doesn't have flash support and you need a Java Midlet build to run it.

When I still had WM5 on my x51v and used PIE with CorePlayer installed, every time I clicked on a youtube video, it was played on Coreplayer. Now, with TCPMP embedded in makuu's ROM, when I clicked on a youtube video, it was opened by TCPMP and TCPMP couldn't play it: error message "Could not open URL"

I know TCPMP can't be uninstalled, but can it be disabled?

Check in the Program Files in File Explore. If you see a TCPMP folder, delete it. Then go to /Windows/Start Menu/Programs and delete the TCPMP shortcut. If that doesn't work, let me know.

There is no TCPMP folder/shortcut in either place. The shortcut is under Windows but not deletable. The delete option is greyed out. I'll download flash player tomorrow and see if it'll play youtube video on PIE. I'll try Opera Mobile tomorrow as well.

I recommend you just flash Lenny's A07 Dell Stock ROM. I've tried several ROMs and Lenny's A07 Dell Stock seems to be the most stable WM6.1 ROM. It also only comes with stock programs. There's no extras like TCPMP. Makuu's ROMs are great, but they have too many unnecessary programs for me and in your case TCPMP is interfering with your Core Player. The only thing I can recommend is that you contact Makuu for a resolutuion or try out Lenny's A07. Makuu's A06 Pure was actually my favorite before I tried Lenny's A07 Dell Stock. I have tried, Makuu's A06,A08, and A09 and Lenny's A07, A08, and L11. I found the A07 to be the best and thanks to tabatt13 from HTCGeeks for mentioning how great A07 is and putting it up on rapidshare because I probably would have never tried it. Thanks most of all to Lenny.

The link below is to Lenny's A07 Dell Stock ROM

It would be even better if a youtube video can be played directly on PIE.

pda810: I have CorePlayer which has direct link to youtube. I open CorePlayer and search youtube videos from there. Any advantage of youtubeplayer over CorePlayer?
You can play YouTube video OOTB, you don't need to install anything else, BUT you need to make sure that you accessing the DESKTOP version of youtube via PIE (it will later on ask you if you want to download the video or directly play it with TCPMP).

3 reasons to prefer TCPMP over CorePlayer.

1/ It's Free.
2/ It has the ability toplay video from your local network
3/ It supports subtitles.

From what I understand, Navguy wants Core Player to play the video when he clicks on it instead of TCPMP. He wants to somehow disable, uninstall, or delete TCPMP.

It's a shame that TCPMP offers features that Core Player doesn't have because from what I've seen Core Player is almost an exact copy off of TCPMP. The options and menus are almost identical. It's just positioned around different and it adds the Youtube search. It's a cool program, but $30 is awfully steep for that program and just about any pocket pc program.

That is of course possible without having to disable, uninstall, or delete TCPMP.
