Can the ROMs really work on X50V? The image loader said "no suitable image .." for two SD cards, not SDHC, I tried. Card-formatting was done before copying the files to the cards.
The current Rom is LennySh A09 which was flashed by a repair/upgrade shop.
Thanks for reporting that! I've been running his a06 and have been waiting anxiously for this release to become public. Jumped right over there and I'm typing this with L11 installed.
Waaaah Hoooo
I just downloaded LennySHs new WM6.1 L11 ROM release.
I just bought a x51v to replace my x30 that I misplaced or lost 2 weeks ago. No need to go into details. Instructions say I need a card read & a 2gb SD card. I'm looking for a good price, etc. on a SD card. I will pose how the rom upgrade goes.

I have already upgraded to the L11 ROM and its the fastest ROM yet that I have beta tested for Lenny to date. Its very stable and has vastly improved the battery time useage. Give it a try and you will see. :approve:

I just updated to L11 last night. I love the new boot screen. I disabled the boot sound (it was annoying) in the registry. Still reinstalling my programs

considering a wm6 upgrade and have a question about this wm6 stuff.
what does wm6 contain when you use it?
you turn it on and see what?
what programs do the different versions contain?
and so on, any info on this will be much appreciated.
got a dell x51v version 5.0 OS 5.1.70 build 14410.1.1.3
Processor Intel(R) PXA270
bought used 2 years ago.
never did anything to it, just used it and added some programs in it.
mostly used as a book reader, movie viewer, music player, game machine.
hope this info can help someone advise me if a upgrade would be worth it or not.

It has been my experience that the sites that represent the WM6 and WM6.1 ROMs post what is new with each specific ROM upgrade. The most important reasons for my upgrading were a great increase in speed of the unit in all areas, stability that was not there with any Dell release of WM5 and extending the amount of time the battery would last. Trust me you will not be disappointed and will not go back to WM5 after you do the upgrade, just be sure to follow all of the instructions and that your unit is a X51V. :approve:
Just a quick question, Can you re=flash between the various three roms available here. Thanks
Yes, you can reflash to different ROM's. On my X51v, I've run Makuu, Football, and Lenny's Rom so far... :D

Thanks for your reply.
I have A06 installed on my Axim x51v fromtwo years back, do I first update with the dell stock A12 and then go to the Lensys rom? Which is the correct step by step order. Thanks
Axim7860, I would recommend upgrading to Stock A12 before flashing Lenny's L11 ROM. I do not know if that is necessary.
So the steps are A06-->A12-->L11

Johnhu, thanks for your reply. I hard reset my axim and now have windows vista and sync center that recognizes my device. Only thing is windows vista the right software to upgrade the axim to rom a12 cause in the instructions on the link I dont see vista as part of the setup. Any ideas?? Thanks
Hold on, getting a confirmation from Box. He's telling me you need Vista. As of now, Do NOT Follow these directions.
I guess the A06-->A12 tutorial is outdated. Here is my version:
1. Start off by backuping EVERYTHING! (I don't care what it is, just back it up)
-Backup your PIM (Email, task, contacts) with the default backup in your Ax
-If you want to feel safer, use commercial programs like Sprite Backup (Sprite Backup- $29.95) or SPB backup (Spb Backup - Pocket PC Products - Spb Software House). I use SPB and it's great.
-Just copy and paste everything into your PC. Some files won't copy. Just skip those
-Lastly, note down all your installed programs and write down any settings you feel that's important.
6. After you upgrade to A12, I'll give you the instructions for Lenny's L11 if you need them.
~~~~~~~~
Warning!
Upgrading to Lenny's L11 or any experimental/3rd party ROM WILL void your Dell warranty. If something goes wrong. Dell will not fix it. :(
Good luck!
