First of all I want to apologize for posting another thread about how difficult WMDC is with an Axim. With that said, I have been reading threads and articles about how to resolve WMDC syncing issues for about a week and a half without any resolve.
When I try to set up my device I get a Connection failed message, I'm sorry that I don't have the exact message on hand.
I have installed all Windows WMDC and Mobile driver updates but I still receive the same error. I've tried to uninstalling and re-installing WMDC about 10 times and this still hasn't resolved my issue. I have even hard reset and re-flashed my device thinking that my device was corrupted at some point, but I still get the same issue.
The one last thought that I have is to re-format my computer and try to start fresh but I'd much rather find another solution. Of, if this is even an option, if anyone knows of an alternative to WMDC then please let me know.
Well, apart from all the other possible reasons that have been posted many times, I have found that the option "enable advanced network functionality" can cause the computer to see the Ax as another network and sometimes causes problems.
Try changing that, you should find it in start/settings/connections/USB to PC.
Also check all the previous fixes in the Active Sync forum.

I've tried this every time I re-install WMDC but the only difference I've noticed is that the device appears as a mobile device in the device manager instead of a network adapter. The same error pops up, "There is a problem with you connection. Please disconnect and reconnect your device and try again."
I'll look through the other forum threads again and try those solutions again but if they don't work do you think reformatting the computer would resolve this issue?
Follow the instruction in the link below in exactly this order (I know you've already done all the things recommended in this link at some point, but probably not in this exact order)
