Vista OS and AXIM x50v Compatibility

My new DELL Studio 1535 appears to not want to recognize my faithful AXIM. It won't load Windows Mobile 4.0 and this means it won't load Windows 5.0 or any other upgrade.
The AXIM was previously wedded to an Inspiron with an XP OS.
Someone, please tell me that my AXIM is not orphaned at this point!
Is there any way to link my Studio with my AXIM???

Vista requires Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) instead of Active sync, you can download it from Microsoft.

Mine works fine with WMDC.

Personally, I think WMDC is stupid. I still want my activesync back. :(.
Vista is cool but not the mobile part of it.
