Using Bluetooth To Connect To Pc?
Prior to last week, I owned a x30 for about four years. Then I bought a x50 but was not satisfied with it (it did't have wi-fi) and returned it. Now I have a x50v, with which I am well pleased. EXCEPT, I am unable to connect to my PC ActiveSync via Bluetooth. I was able (and still able) with the x30 and while checking out the x50, I was able to connect. Now that I have a x51v, I can't connect. I'm hoping that someone has a simple solution. I'm sure it's capable of doing so and I'm either doing something wrong or failing to do something right..... Please...and thank you, if you have a solution.

make sure that your bluetooth pairing has the activesync profile selected (on the axim)

make sure that you have a BT com port profile setup on your PC

An addition to radimus's response:
Make sure that the activesync service is enabled with your PC. I know only Widcomm supports additional services. Bluesoliel does not (Very stupid).

The BT port is generally 7 or 8 by default.

The usual problem is the com port.

In active sync settings on the pc you can change the com port, as both the above posters have mentioned, you need to change it to the one that works for your set up, and it may be different to the x30.

I'm extremely mobile just now, stuck in traffic on my bike in the middle of germany, so please excuse the brief reply and any typos.

Box, You May Be Right!
Box, I think that you may have hit on the heart of the problem. When I checked on my my PC the Com Port options are 1,3,6,9,10 and 11. Whereas the x50v gives only two Com Port options, 7 or 8. I'm thinking that this may be the reason I'm unable to connect. Is there a solution to this?........

I thought Axim was only able to use 7 and 8 for Bluetooth. PC and Pocket PC are two different things.

I've just tried to establish a partnership between my Axim X50 and my DELL Inspiron 6400 using a Belkin BT Dongle.

I already sync using my iPAQ and have no trouble using a serial port, COM4. The only trouble that I encountered was that I forgot to make both devices discoverable. I simply added my X50 in the laptop's BT Manager as a device and checked the Other devices can discover me check box in the X50's BT Manager (Accessibility tab).

Once done, the two devices connected using the same COM port as the iPAQ (4) and synchronised with no difficulty.

Lol, that happened to me with a GPS. I forgot to set it to discoverable and was wondering for 30 minutes whey they wouldn't connect.

Where did you get that information? BlueSoleil has 2 serial port services, any of which can be used to connect to activesync.

holy crap! How did u get it working? Tried port 7 and 8 for bluesoleil. Did not get it to connect.

I use Widcomm on my other laptop. You can set up additional services. One of them is Activesync.

I don't know but there might be a difference with Activesync and WMDC (Windows Mobile Device Center for Vista)?
