BUying used x51v need some tips...

what's some things I could do that will make sure the unit is working fine??

i heard about some battery cover issue?

Start off by going into Dell's Self Diagnostic mode.
-Press Record and power button
-While hold the two, press the reset button
-Release ONLY the reset button (while holding the record and power)
-Wait until the diagnostic screen comes up. Follow the directions on screen.

The battery cover issue only comes randomly. Some experimental ROMs have the problem. I have the problem but it occurs very rarely (like once a few months). If you find it a frequent problem, flash another ROM and give hard reset a try.

That's all I can think of.

You might as well take a close look around the 'crack' between the shell and the screen.

You can do a search for 'business card' and screen and read where ppl talk about how to get crud and dirt out so that the alignment is correct.

Remove any screen protector prior to performing the above activity.
