Aximsitesoftwareicon Panasonic SD Card formater???

At the anythingbutipod.com site, an administrator, dfkt, wrote, “Use this for formatting SD cards: http://panasonic.jp/support/global/c...formatter.html

NEVER format SD cards with the standard Windows formatter.”
Link to the page: Do i need to format my new Microsdhc - Sansa e200 Accessories - abi>>forums.

Ever hear of this. Sorry, I have been in a coma of sorts for a few years, ya know, the kind caused by work.

I have formated using XP for every CF or SD or SDHC card that I have with never an issue. The only ones I do not format with XP are the ones I use on my camera. :approve:

I've used the panasonic sd format program before. In the past my 4gb SD wasn't recognized as 4gb by windows (it only shows 1.3gb or something) and formatting it through camera/pc/mac didn't do any help. Somehow I found that program, installed it, formatted it via the program and voila 4gb was available. Besides fixing SD card problems like mine I don't there is a difference between using the program to format or using windows. Just a FYI.

I thought increasing the allocation table when formatting alters the amount of space available to users.
