How to transfer data from X50V to X51V Axim?
I got another used Axim X51V as a backup for my X50V Axim. Both are still working fine. They have different versions of Windows Mobile. I am wondering how I can best transfer info from X50V to X51V model. Is is feasible to try keep both models synchronized to my desktop info or is this likely to result in incomplete or lost info.

Yes it's fine to keep both pda's synced to your desktop. Just sync your primary device first so that the info is transferred to your "ankle" pda. I keep my 8525, X50V, and X5 all synced on Windows XP with (more or less) with Activestink.

If you have a lot of data on storage cards, I'd use a card reader to transfer the data, Ive got a 4-in-1 card reader and a sd one that I got free with my sdhc, I just plug the cards in and move it from one to the other, it's a lot faster if you have a lot of data to transfer. Some 2003 programs wont work with wm 5/6/6.1 and vice versa...
If I understand you correctly, you're asking if you can connect both at the same time, no you can't. If you mean can you connect them at different times with an x50v and an x51v profile then yes.

I just wanted to mention, you can restore a backup from different roms if you use Sprite Backup. Pretty cool features, and you can save backups to ftp, and your desktop. Don't know if it'd work for your particular situation, but worth a shot..

The card reader sounds like it might speed up certain data transfers, but is there any work around for programs that might not work between the two because of the different versins of Windows Mobile. Can they both be upgraded to a newer version? What versions will still work with Windows XP Pro?

I see you have upgraded your Axim X50v and also have a Eee PC.
How does your Axim X50v run on 6.1?
Do all the programs run OK?
Do you share any info with your Asus Eee PC and Axim?

6.1 A09 is running great, very very smooth, waiting for L11 to come out..I love all the releases Lenny has made for the x50v, but I have a feeling he may move on after a while..
All programs are running great once you run net cf. No problems.
I use the bt connection to communicate with my Eee PC and phone. Still loving my Eee PC, I got one of the first 2g surfs for cheap, it's still proving great for me..
