Question x51v - "out of memory" error on boot.

My axim x51v ( running WM6 ) is now showing Information "Out of memory" and it doesn't want to boot up wm6. It shows up the DELL logo, then the WM6 logo but won't go any further after that.

It happened out of sudden. I have been using then WM6 since football released it long time ago. I didn't install anything, nor changed any settings. I turned it off, then on and boom.. here it was.

I soft reseted it many times, removed the batteries for a while etc etc.. nothing worked. Anything else you guys can think of before setting up the hard reset ?

any ideas would be appriciated. thanks.

PS.: Weirdly I can activesync it so I can browse the content of the pda. If there is a way to see what can I delete from the startup menu safely, maybe it would help ? Any ideas ?

You seem to have tried most everything. By chance did you recently do a backup so you can give the old hard reset a try. I used Football's ROM since it first came out and haven't seen this problem before.

I just thought of something else. If the hard reset doesn't work, I would flash the new 6.1 ROM from Lenny on XDA site. Everything I've read about this ROM says it's very steady and solid.

larrywms45, thanks. I just may do that. I don't have any backups.. :(

Is there a big difference in 6.1 vs the 6.0 ? Anything worth trying or just stick with the good old 6.0 ( most everything works fine here, besides the Wi-fi icons that sometimes are screwing up )

The biggest two differences I noticed between 6 & 6.1 had to do with overall speed increase and better and more stable WiFi connections. I'm not the most technical user so I would see what others post as well. Good luck. Make sure when you do get up and running and you make a backup as often as you can. It will save you a tonof grief.:approve:
