Remote key sending software

Hi, bit of a strange request... I have a carputer which had a touchscreen, the screen still works but the touchscreen is dead (I've had it to bits and it's toast :( ) so as it's the run up the Christmas and I can't afford the cost of a new unit I was wondering on a different way to do this aka cheap!

I have a usb IR reciever and a x51v... the frontend software I use for my car is Centrafuse which can respond to programmable hotkeys... so firstly is there any software which I can configure my ax so it sends these hotkeys over a wi-fi / bluetooth link or how easy would it be to write it (I know a little VB and can generally figure most things out if motivated enough - and £300 for a screen is motivation!!!)?

failling that I'll try the IR route, but it doesn't seem as neat...

Have you gone back to the Centrafuse WEB site to see if they already have what you're looking for?

What size is the screen? Typically, you can use a touchscreen from other stuff of the same size if it uses the same technology. Most touchscreens for car use are resistive 4wire types.
See if your local electronics junk shop has something you can substitute.
