I do not have any of my computers running Vista but with XP Pro I have shut the system down and booted it back up as well as a soft reset to my X51V. That seems to work for me. If all else fails you could reinstall the application.

Have you deleted the partnership and tried to set up a new partnership as Radimus suggested?

Let me get this straight. Are you trying to connect your Axim to a new computer running Vista? If so, then you need to have Windows Mobile Device Center installed on your computer using Vista.

When your connect your Axim to your computer it should try establishing some kind of connection. You may need to go into settings --->Connections--->USB connection. Either check or uncheck the box "Enable advanced network fuctionality".

You will need to delete the the partnership on your Axim before you can sync it with WMDC.

Good Morning,

I think I need to describe a little more.

My computer is a vista box. The active synch connection worked fine till about 20 days ago, so I was able to get and receive data etc.

Now the problem is the following;
The connection does not work anymore. The PC can’t see the PDA, which means that when I connect it to the PC it is not recongnized. There is a few seconds of CPU activity but nothing else.
When I connect it to another (XP) computer the activesynch 4.5 says that there is an usb/pda problem and it wants to start a routine to diagnose the problem. All the checks are green but the pda is simply not there.
It looks like the usb ses that there is something, but it does not see the pda.

What have I done:
• rebooted the pc many a times.
• Reset the PDA ( the soft reset)
• Use two different computers USB ports to see if I can find the problem.
• Other USB devices are found immediately and are usable.
• I have deleted the defined connection on the Vista Computer.

The power supply works so the pda is getting power. But the data link is not working. It is starting to look like the docking station has an issue.
So then the other option is to use the Bluetooth as a connection.
Now is that even possible? As I tried a fw times and the two really can’t seem to connect there either.

Have you recently installed any new software on the Ax, sometimes some applications can screw things up.

Have you tried jadesse's suggestion?

Yes Bluetooth Sync works.
Turn on BT on the PC and the Ax,
make both Discoverable,
on the Ax tap add new device
if it finds the PC follow any prompts (password etc) and pair the two.
It should then show you a screen telling you what services are available,
it should show Active Sync, tic the box.
Ok out of the settings.

Go to active sync on the Ax. tap menu, tap connect via Bluetooth.
It should pop up saying something about connecting, and you may need to accept it on the PC or something like that.

That's the basics, but you might find some variations depending on your setup.

If that doesn't work, you may want to look at doing a hard reset.
