Is it necessary to backup my stock rom on x51v before wm6 rom flash?

I was wondering if it is necesary to backup my stock wm5 rom on my x51v before I flash it with wm6.1 lennysh L11? How would I go about backing up my stock rom if anything were to go wrong? Any help would be appreciated?

Depending on your current ROM there are several WM5 ROMs that have been posted on the internet. I found the WM5 A12 one and have a copy of it should I want to sell my unit I can go back to that ROM level. How to create your own ROM would be a question for another person perhaps at Lennys site or the xda-developers site. :approve:

Hiya. Personally, I think there is no need to backup WM5 before L11. I'm running it and it's the best one yet! IMHO :)

But you cannot really restore your ROM with any software method if something goes amiss. The best you could do is just backup all personal data and write down all settings.
