will resync solves this?

Somehow the battery door opened and the battery fell out. when i turned on my ax, it seems all my appointment and the date is now january 21, 2005. i presume that if i just cradle it back to my computer that all my info will be transferred back over...correct?

When ever the battery is totally removed from my X51V the same thing happens as you have described. Just reset your units time and date. All of your appointments are still there since the X51V uses ROM to hold all user data in addition to the units OS. You can remove the battery and let the unit sit on a shelf for 6 months and after powering up again change the date and time and your back exactly where you were 6 months ago with all of your data and OS intact. A great feature in the X51Vs that was not available in any other of the Axim line from Dell. :approve:

If you want to prevent resetting the date when changing the battery, you can follow the instructions in this thread Replacing the back-up battery in an Axim X51V. Technically it's not a battery, but a capacitor that goes bad to cause this.

If you don't want to go to the trouble of taking apart you axim and soldering a new cap in place, then there is this option in that same thread.

I first tried the software and then had to tear mine apart to fix the battery door has been opened message, so I also replaced the cap while I had it apart.
