Ax sitting in cradle - auto-off? auto-charge? any tips?

When I'm at work, I plop my Ax in the cradle and it often-times will sit there all day, except in those instances when I leave the office. My Ax must stay with me at all times, or I forget stuff. But, as long as I'm in my office, my Ax is in its cradle.

Is there a way to set it up that if its sitting in its cradle and doing nothing, that it will auto-off so that it can start charging? I'm running off USB only, so it has to be off to charge. If it sits idle for 20-minutes, its obviously done Sync'ing, so it should turn itself off to get in a quick power boost.

Any tips?

Yes I believe if you Start/Settings/Systems/Power/Advanced
You can check the box to turn off when on external power.

I've done this, but it doesn't work in the cradle. It doesn't see that it is on external power, I think. When I plug it directly into the wall, this works fine. But, since I use the cradle through USB only... I'm having trouble.

It's actually Activesync on the pc that keeps waking the Axim up.

If you use Activesync Toggle to turn Activesync off then it should just sit there charging happily.

The other option would be Card Export, which stops the PC seeing the Axim as an activesync device, this one isn't free but is a great tool.

Ah! Really. Well, thanks.

Unfortunately, I can't install any software on the work PC's. I'll use it for those times when I bring my cradle home, but I guess I'm just doomed to have to remember to turn off the Ax from time to time.

THANKS!

If you use the Card Export program it only needs to be installed on the Ax.
It costs around 10 bucks and means you can connect to any PC even without AS.
It transfers files faster than AS too.

It makes the Ax appear as a logical drive, like a card reader.
I'm sure it would solve your problem and when you do want to sync you just tap the little icon to change it back.
I think they have a trial version, give it a go and see what you think.
