New life for old x50v

After getting my Tilt about a year ago, the old x50v went into a drawer and stayed there.

Then I discovered LennySh's 6.1 rom. I thought it'd be fun to play around with. At first the ax wouldn't boot, but I left it on the charger for a few days and it came back to life. :)

With WM6.1, Mort Player and a 16gb SD card, the Axim makes a great mp3 player. I've got over 600 songs, and 6 full movies on it and there's still room so...

Finally, there's Tomtom. The VGA version from the Touch runs great and I've ordered a bluetooth gps. Now my old axim is a brand new in-car MP3/gps system. Who'd of thought that a 5+ year old device could still be so useful. That VGA screen is still above anything (for the price anyway).

Hi folks,

I just wanted to say, that since 2003 I still use my x50v with original OS as GPS, ebook reader and as a place when I keep my notes. All notes is syncronized with my PC though.
Just recently I began thinkig about upgrade to HTC Touch PRO, it's like x50v with built-in GPS and phone :)
