I just bought this on Ebay. It was advertised as suited for my x51v. I'm not sure yet. I'm having trouble setting it up. The CD that came with it apparently was done before the Axim 50's, because all the instructions for setting up the connection seem to have pictures that are not contained in my ppc. Of course it has crossed my mind that maybe this item is not really suited for an x51v. On the other hand, it may be that I just haven't done things the way needed. I'm hoping that someone can tell me (1) that it is suited for my ppc and (2) here is a simple way to "set it up."
I finally got it connected....but now I can't figure out how to type numbers. They are not separate. How do I get them? I find the so-called instructions confusing.
On mine there are two "Fn" keys--one, with blue lettering, to the left of the space keys, and the other, with green lettering, to right of the space key. The left/blue Fn key, when pressed with the upper row of letters, will type the number that corresponds in the blue print on the key. "Q" typed with left/blue Fn, for example, types "1". The right/green Fn key, when pressed along with other keys gives you the item printed on the keyboard keys in green.
The keyboard works fine, largely due to your help. Now I am wondering if I c:)ould be getting a mouse. Would you recomend one and a place to get it. Frankly, I don't want to pay more than I paid for the keyboard........

They do also make a stowaway bluetooth mouse. There are also a few other brands that make bluetooth mice compatible. Just make sure to check to see if it has windows mobile drivers before you buy it, b/c some bluetooth mice are made for pcs only and not mobile pdas.

Glad to hear that it is working for you; those keyboards are very useful!
I've got the bluetooth mouse from the same company as the keyboard. It works great, too, and is very compact because it is a travel mouse. You might find a number of recommendations by searching the forums here; several brands, including logitech and other recognizable names seem to make them.
You can also get a Bluetooth mouse driver from a company called Teksoft.
This one works with most generic BT mice that don't have the WM software included.
There is an annoying trial available, from memory you get 30 clicks before you have to restart it.
30 clicks isn't very many.
I have both and regularly use them in meetings. Beats lugging a laptop around the office :). I have the drivers for both if anyone needs them. As a matter of note, the KB and mouse quickly linked with my PDA under WM5 and WM6.1 (Lenny's). No problems at all...
It should work fine with your x51v. It might be that you need the appropriate driver not contained on the old CD. Check here: iGo, Inc.
:approve: Woohoo thanks alot hstn, I had also bought a x51v with wireless mouse and keyboard and was in the dark about setting it up.....thanks again for the informative posts...you guys rock:approve:...I luv dis site
I'm getting a Think Outside Stowaway Travel B T Mouse. Probably it will come at the end of the week. Now I have another question. In April I will at a hotel in Westminster, CO for three weeks. I remembered that I already have a Netgear Travel Router WGR101, which I bought several years ago after being unable to connect in a hotel room in S. America. Never used it. This will be the first time. I'm thinking that I need a driver on my x51v for the router, just as I do for the keyboard and mouse. True? If so. since I don't believe I have a CD, where can I get a download (if I need one). I'm sure I will get an answer since you all have been so helpful.......... THANK YOU!:)
Plug it in at home and connect to it in the normal way. i.e. Turn on the router, turn on Wifi on your Ax, if the new network message pops up select connect, if not go into settings and look for it and connect that way.
If it works you are good to go, then when you get to the hotel simply connect the router to the Data port in your room and it should work.
You may need to enter user name and password information for the hotel before you get a connection.
Sometimes the login page needs a better browser than PIE so it might be handy to have Opera or one of the others available for that.
You can always download the .cab file for Opera and only install it if you need it, therefore allowing you to use the 30 day trial.
It would be best to connect your travel Router to your system at home and add a WEP password so that you know it works before you travel.
I tried to follow you suggestion but I could not connect. My settings say that the wireless network NETGEAR/AMATO is unavailable. Just dawned on me: I have neighbor named Amato. Could it be her's and not mine. Funny, I've never seen it before. Anyway, what do I do now. I'm assuming that you can connect to the NetGear even when it is not connected to the internet.........
