A2DP sound quality

I have a Dell Axim X50v running WM2003SE.
To enable A2DP for my PPC, I installed the HP iPAQ Bluetooth Stereo Headphones Driver Update: HP iPAQ h5500 Pocket PC series*-* HP iPAQ Bluetooth Stereo Headphones Driver Update - HP Business Support Center

I've found the audio quality to be rather poor, and I can clearly hear artefacts that I wouldn't find if I used a cabled solution, i.e. through my 3.5mm jack.

I was wondering if I can upgrade my Bluetooth stack that might cure this problem. My current Bluetooth version is:
BT-PPC Version 1.5.0 Build 2601.

I've read a bit about this Widcomm BT stack, but from what I've read, it's only really for WM5 users who are trying to get rid of the MS one. Is this going to help in any way?

Take a look here: Moto S9-HD - X50v noise problem.

There not really anything you can do. My best guess is to upgrade to WM6.

According to Logitech BT Headphones - fully functional with x50 $39 AR , there's a suggestion to install pda2k_broadcomcorp_btupdate.cab

Then there's also the suggestion in New bluetooth stack from HP? to use a possibly newer driver (unconfirmed).

Has anyone tried the second option?
