Power up problems Axim 51V

My Axim 51V is now three years old, havent used it for 6 months, went to switch on and - nothing. So bought new battery cos thought might have drained, and new charger. However got it to fire up once and all seemed OK, but when put in cradle, left for a few hrs in my mind on standby charge, and when i tried to switch back on, absolutely nothing. Tried pressing all buttons, soft re start. Getting really hacked off. Please help any suggestions?

My next guess would have been the battery door switch
but if you did a hard reset it must have had power.

I have a similar problem: my X50v won't boot up. I've tried all possible button combinations / taking out battery / hard and soft reset / try second battery . . . but the Ax won't turn on. However, I can charge the battery through the cradle. Last time I remember turning it on was downgrading back to ppc 2k3...

Have I bricked it?

Note: I've tried getting into sd bootloader and diagnostic mode -- > no luck.

I feel like I'm doing CPR to a dead beat =/

When you say new charger I assume you mean an AC plugin. (Don't give up on this thing yet). They aren't that expensive and charge the axim well. Sounds like either one of two things. 1) You may have bought a bad battery that isn't holding the charge for very long. I would look at a dell battery. They are better quality as I have two of them and hold a charge for the specified period of time. 2) you might have programs running in the backround which take up enormous amount of power thus causing the battery to drain fairly fast. Check in your settings before you power off (I wouldn't leave it on standby as that drains power also.) and make sure and make sure all running programs are gone. One other thing the wifi might be on (blinking green light) when you power off. This causes fast power drainage even though you don't have the power on.

Hope one of these suggestions helps if not come back with a comment. It can't be anything too severe I don't think.
