Help! Axim Won't Hard Reset!

Hey guys!

I have an x51 Mid, and am trying to get A12 on it. After going through the desktop install, connecting, handshaking, uploading, writing and the like, everything went smooth until I had to hard reset the device. When I hold power and restart, the Hard Reset dialog shows up for a split second and disappears!

I am unable to hard reset, leaving me with little options. I can watch it boot (unsuccessfully, sticks at dell logo) or pluck out the battery. I have tried flashing several different ROMs from SD, but I cannot hard reset to finish any of them! Any help??

I would be absolutely sure that you installed the correct ROM. I am not sure what is the most current ROM for the x51 mid but A12 is the most current for the x51V.

It's A12... I just got it to boot from an SD flash. However, if I ever need to hard reset, it still won't work. Any suggestions?

You could try another hard reset to see if it works. Or, in the future, remove the battery, wait an hour, and reinstall the battery. That should hard reset it for you.

From what I have read, you need to do the update via activesync and do the hardreset while it is still in the cradle. This way it will continue the update.
The first Hard Reset is to upgrade the bootloader I think and if you leave it connected it will continue.
