Good idea to buy X50 replacement screen off of Chinese ebay seller?
Has anyone had a good experience with buying replacement screen off of ebay from someone who is based in Hong Kong or any other part of China (I found NEW FULL LCD WITH TOUCH SCREEN FOR Dell axim X50/X51 - eBay (item 350161241302 end time Feb-11-09 20:41:53 PST))? If so, is it a good buy (and who did you buy it off of)?

I recently bought a digitizer from a chinese supplier. The auction is listed below for reference.

Due to the incredibly low price of $5 shipped for the digitizer I ordered two with the assumption that I would have a spare in case one was damaged by stupidity in installation  or it arrived damaged.
The installation went fine, and was pretty straight forward. The new digitizer had a much longer cable on the side than the OEM so some creative routing was in order. The first digitizer I installed worked but had a spot on it that would cause the pointer to jump, so I installed the second one and it worked fine. I did notice that much more pressure is required for the digitizer to sense the stylus and it scratches ALOT easier than the OEM. I installed a screen protector on it and it still works the same. I played a couple rounds of solitare and its playable but at times the digitizer isn't spot on unless I use more pressure on it. Its relatively new, so I don't know if it will get better/worse over time but I suspect not.
Overall, I am happy with my purchase, and I would probably go that route again since the price is so cheap. As for the combo unit you are considering, if I was a heavy user I would probably go with an OEM replacement. But if you are an occasional user or don't do alot of drag and drop I would think that this replacement is fine. My $.02.

Is there any chance that the size of the X30/X3i/X3 screen (+ digitizer) is the same size as the normal X50(non-v) screen (+ digitizer)?

It is the same size, but the LCD cables are different. the digitizer cables are the same.

Would the X30 screen and digitizer still work though, if put in an X50?
