need advise and info for dell axim x50v mobile formating files for video, music, movie
hi all,
I have a axim x50v mobile ...
I haven't had it long, it's used...
I have figured out how to download from my computer to the pda via sync and other..
I have ( in my windows media options ), burn,rip,sync...
I figured out how to format the music to mp3 from above options, to download to the pda,
but, I haven't figured out how to do video's or movie's..pictures, I have digital camera and when I download, well, they sync well to the pda, with me not doing anything to them.
I think the format on pic's is mpeg..hmm
anyway, I need you all to tell me please how and what to do with some home video's I have and I want to download them to the pda..........they are short video's sort of..:)
also, I would like to maybe see if a couple of my dvd's will beable to be converted so I can put them on the pda if that is a option... it would be nice to have just a few just in case...
is there something I dont know about on this computer, that I can have these all compatible to download to this axim x50v mobile...
it's a hp pavillion 6300 with windows vista home premium.. bought early 2008..
I also see these free converter's out there and wonder about them and how safe they are?
please give me all the advise you have to share.. thank you in advance..

I just placed my mp3 files with in folders named the album on my SDHC card, and use S2P as a music player (free download). Pretty straight forward. :approve:

It's weird. In the 3 years I've been using my X50v I've never had any media file format issues and that is obvusly because I don't use media player for that. Download TCPMP from this link: TCPMP v0.72RC1 freeware for Windows Mobile Pocket PC.
And all videos formats problems will be gone. You obiously need to rip your dvds first before playing them in TCPMP, see the format list that it handles.
Regards!

For a tutorial on ripping DVD and encoding the video for play back on the Axim, do a search for "how to encode videos for your PDA" on this site. It's a sticky. The subject is " How To: Encode Videos For Your PDA For Free (Both 320x240 & 640x480) Update, 2/13/06".
As for TCPMP v0.72RC1, if it can't play the video smoothly, then you might need to re-encode the video at a lower bit rate and/or frame rate. Super by eRightSoft can do that. You'll have to play around w/ it until you get a desirable output. It's been a while since I done any encoding, so I don't recall the settings I used.

Hi all above, I have been reading more, and the home video I have is in VOB format, I guess when I downloaded my cannon video's to my computer I did something, (dont remember what, but, these video's are the only ones that are in this VOB format...
I put these video's on a dvd, first time I ever did that, but, maybe that's the problem...anyway, I still have these video's alot of them, and from what I have read, ohhhhh nooooo, I am a novice about all of this stuff, I just need something that I can download, click on the video file, click on format too, wmv and let it do it.....
is there anything out there that is trustworthy, no virus's or trojans, I do have computer protection tho, but still, I would like something that would maybe convert files to other file formats just in case...psp (my son has that, he's already asking) to download music, but I have no idea...
also my computer will rip or burn for me and it will convert when doing it, but not dvd stuff, and I somehow, *scratching head* have these video's in vob and these video's are of our first snow trip,
I really would like to convert them...
anyone, I am not a wiz kid with computer's, or files, I am just learning about this stuff, I truly, need a program, that will do it all for me...
Do any of you know of a safe converter program...yes, I did read the other sites, and they said a couple sites would do this or that, but I need a all in one, do it all kind of one, with other file format options....
PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN
Thank you above for your responses...
