hi, sry to bother u but i need help/info pls... noobie here so bear with if info not full
ive been trying to upgrade my dell axim x50v : specs:
x50v
win mob 2003 se vers: 4.21.1088 (build14260.2.0.5)
pxa270 624mhz.
ram 64mb
rom A05 (07270500) - this is from sys info in settings
SD image update - A01 -- this from when u enter bootloader.
i trawlled through hundreds and hundreds of pages to ressolve but no success yet.
Ok the problem .... ive been trying to figure out why i cannot upgrade from WM03se to anything else. ive realised that i need to upgrade to WM2005 A01/then A02 bootlader image, but i cant even do that. -
my cradle and sync bit on the dell are sorta broken, so gotta use an sd card no matter what, so, the download i got (upgrade to rom a02)from dell support, from the link on mobility site, is not in .nbo or .crc format, they are .exe and i have to use sync to upgrade - so this route is a no go cos of broken cradle and sync bit on axim.
i then found a DL link to wm2005 a02 in .nbo and crc format with a bootloader, and even this did not work. but i think i need A01 first, but cannot seem to find a link for this rom anywhere on net ( or at least in .nbo and .crc format anyway).
1 last question,,,, after pressing the pwr+wifi then reset i get into the bootlader screen where it says SD image update a01, but in my sys info my rom is a05 - does it matter, cos obviuosly it does cos summats going wrong?
I basically followed instructions from xda devs site, where u can get most of the .nbo and .crc files espicially if u need to upgrade FROM WM03se A05 and if u cant sync with pc.
You have to try the Pwr+wifi + reset a few times before bootloader finds the sd image, so bear with it.
Great!
So I assume you have finished upgrading to WM6.1. You have also sent me a Windows Live Message, so please disregard my reply then.

As for the x50, there are not a lot of ROMs out there. Developers usually place the x51v and x50v as priority.
All of the ROMs are extremely early alphas that are missing a lot of functionality. I strongly recommend you stick with WM2003SE because of its stability.

Yeah, Lenny's link seems to be down. Sorry, I can't seem to find an alternative link.
